Jim Harris, Former Leader, Green Party of Canada
Fred Winegust has been an advocate for connecting business value to conservation action since 2007.
During his time at IBM we worked together to help financial services firms understand that going green was good not just for the environment but also had huge bottom line benefits.
Once Fred retired from IBM, he joined Al Gore in Nashville along with 500 others to be personally trained by Al Gore to give An Inconvenient Truth presentations as part of “The Climate Project.” He has now presented to more than 2,000 people. (I was trained in 2006)
Fred has helped a major synagogue reduce its electrical consumption. In 2017, the synagogue was recognized by Powerstream / Alactra for those measurable conservation efforts.
Once elected as a Vaughan Regional Councillor, Fred will bring his proven collaborative and business value approach to the City of Vaughan and York Region Council.
